Turlock man convicted for trading child porn online

A 47-year-old Turlock man faces 15 to 40 years in federal prison for trading child pornography images online, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Sacramento reported.

On Monday in federal court, Jeffrey Randall Metcalfe pleaded guilty to one count of receiving and distributing child pornography.

Federal prosecutors said Metcalfe used a website to communicate with people interested in exchanging child porn images. They also said the defendant knowingly received and distributed more than 600 child porn image, some of which were images of violence and prepubescent minors.

The images were traded online from January 2012 through Dec. 1, 2013.

Metcalfe is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 15.
