An Oakdale man was sentenced to 10 years in prison last month for molesting his girlfriend’s young daughters, according to the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office.

Daniel John Ruiz, 26, pleaded no contest to two counts of felony child molestation. The two female victims, who were 9 and 12 years old, reported to Oakdale police last summer that their mother’s boyfriend, Ruiz, had molested them one night when their mother was at work.

The crimes are considered “strikes” under California’s Three Strikes law, and Ruiz will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from state prison.
