Woman killed in Patterson drive-by shooting

Stanislaus County sheriff’s detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting in Patterson that left a 42-year-old woman dead early Saturday.

Stanislaus County sheriff’s detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting that left a 42-year-old woman dead early Saturday.

According to Patterson Police Chief Tori Hughes, deputies were called to a home in the 300 block of Berlin Way at 3:30 a.m.

“Units arrived approximately two minutes later and found Erica Flores, 42,” Hughes said. Flores had been shot in the front yard of the home in what Hughes described as a drive-by shooting.

Paramedics took Flores to a hospital, where she died.

Hughes said no suspects have been identified or arrested. Detectives remained on the scene Saturday afternoon, canvassing the neighborhood and talking with potential witnesses.

Hughes said investigators have not determined if the shooting was gang-related, but she noted that the neighborhood, located on the northeast side of town near Felipe Garza Park, is an area in which gang and drug activity is common.
