A judge has determined there’s enough evidence for two men to stand trial charged with murder in the 2011 shooting of a Patterson man in west Modesto.
Authorities say defendants Juan Manuel Tello, 28, of Modesto and Alexander Hernandez Lopez, 27, of Salida are responsible for the shooting death of Robert Ruvalcaba.
The 38-year-old man was found dead Dec. 16, 2011, in an alley near North Martin Luther King Drive and Linden Street. Witnesses told police they heard gunshots and spotted Ruvalcaba injured in the alley.
The defendants remain in custody at the Stanislaus County Jail as they await trial. Stanislaus Superior Court Judge Ricardo Córdova scheduled Tello and Lopez to return to court June 2 for an arraignment hearing.
