A felony arrest warrant was issued Thursday for Michael Peter Oneill Jr., 32, of Ripon on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, along with enhancements associated with road rage.
The incident occurred Oct. 4 about 4 p.m. during heavy traffic, Modesto police said in a news release Friday.
Police say Oneill chased the victim at high speed through residential streets in northwest Modesto, placing the victim and public in danger. Oneill was driving a four-door 2012 Jeep Rubicon.
Oneill is aware of the outstanding arrest warrant and is avoiding arrest, according to the news release from police Sgt. Ivan Valencia.
Investigators are seeking the public’s help to find Oneill. The release says he is an admitted gang member and “has been identified as a close associate of Praveen Singh.”
Singh was arrested Nov. 27 and has been charged with attempted shooting of an occupied home, soliciting the commission of a shooting at an inhabited home and soliciting the commission of a robbery. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Investigators ask anyone who may have information regarding Oneill or Singh to contact Detective Jon Evers at (209) 652-1995 or call Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward. Tipsters can text information to Crime Stoppers by sending a text message to 274637.
