Modesto Police are looking for a man that robbed an elderly woman who was in the parking lot of the Save Mart Supermarket on Oakdale Road Thursday afternoon.

The 70-year-old woman was pushing a shopping cart in the parking lot when a man in a black Honda drove up next to her and grabbed her purse from the cart, said Lt. Brian Findlen.

The woman struggled briefly with the suspect for the purse and as a result was knocked to the ground and scraped her hand.

The suspect drove away with the woman’s purse in the black Honda that is a newer model, possibly with “chrome components,” Findlen said.

He is described as a black man in his 20s, clean shaven with short hair and a light blue polo shirt.
