Man arrested on suspision of DUI after truck hits tree

Authorities arrested a 65-year-old man from West Point, in Calaveras County, after he allegedly ran his truck into a tree and then left the scene Tuesday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Muriel Norman was driving a 1990 Toyota pickup north on Stanley Road north of Highway 26 when the truck left the road and hit a tree.

The accident was reported at 6:49 p.m. Norman then went to his home, where authorities found him.

They brought him back to the accident site, and then arrested him on charges of driving under the influence.
