A 72-year-old San Andreas man suffered moderate injuries when he rolled his pickup Saturday, and authorities are investigating whether he was driving drunk.
According to the California Highway Patrol, A. Charlesworth was driving a 2003 Ford north on Highway 49 near Union Mine Road when the incident occurred at 5:15 p.m.
The Ford went off the right side of the road and hit an embankment. Charlesworth turned sharply to the left, sending the truck across both lanes of traffic and off the west side of the road.
The truck went down an embankment and through a fence before overturning and coming to a rest on its roof.
Charlesworth was taken to Mark Twain Hospital in San Andreas.
