Modesto police are looking for a man who they say committed an armed robbery at a south Modesto grocery store Thursday night.
The man went into the Cost Less at 3801 Yosemite Blvd. about 8:45 p.m., pointed a pistol at a clerk and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
He was last seen getting into a white Toyota driven by a heavyset Latina.
The gunman is described as Latino, about 5 foot 6 inches tall, 160 pounds, with tattoos on his neck and face.
Since January 2012, there have been five robberies at the shopping center that Cost Less anchors. Thursday night's armed robbery was the only one inside the grocery store, but there have been three armed robberies in different areas of the center's parking lot.
There also have been two strong-arm robberies inside Cost Less, which started as shoplifting but escalated to robberies when the suspects were caught and fought back instead of surrendering.
