Oakdale police responding to alarm find marijuana grow

Oakdale Police are looking for a local businessman after an alarm call led them to discover an indoor marijuana growing operation. According to police, officers responded to an alarm call at Kirk Briggs Signs, 551 S. Yosemite Ave., just before 7 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, officers responded to an alarm call at Kirk Briggs Signs, 551 S. Yosemite Ave., just before 7 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived, they found the marijuana plants and called in agents with the Stanislaus Drug Enforcement Agency.

Police obtained a search warrant for the business, and confiscated 452 marijuana plants, authorities said. Police detained a 52-year-old woman and later released her.

They are looking for Kirk Briggs, 49, “to speak with him about the illegal marijuana grow,” Sgt. Joseph Carrillo said in a news release.

Investigators ask anyone with information on the case to call Carrillo at (209) 847-2231.
