A Modesto man wanted in the weekend shooting of two relatives has been booked at the Stanislaus County Jail.
Rigoberto Rosales, 35, turned himself in to authorities at 10:51 p.m. Sunday, sheriff's Sgt. Anthony Bejaran said.
Rosales is suspected in the shooting that left one man dead and one injured early Sunday during a south Modesto party.
Ricardo Ramirez, 32, and his father, Fidel Ramirez, 62, both of Modesto, were shot while on the front lawn of a home in the 1400 block of Garden Avenue at 2:45 a.m., deputies said.
Ricardo Ramirez was unconscious when deputies arrived and, after emergency personnel attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation, was pronounced dead at the scene. Fidel Ramirez was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive, Bejaran said.
Bejaran said Sunday that the family did not cooperate with authorities, who issued a homicide arrest warrant for Rosales. Rosales, who is partially paralyzed and uses a wheelchair, is a cousin to the victims and had argued with them before the shooting.
