A panhandler who gave a fake name to police picked the wrong one, authorities said. According to Turlock police, officers contacted Raymond Taylor, 71, Tuesday for panhandling on Lander Avenue. When asked for his name, Taylor gave someone else's. Problem is, that person's name appeared in an obituary list, which a dispatcher saw the next day. Police caught up with Taylor again Wednesday afternoon and arrested him on charges he lied about his name. When officers searched him, they found a switchblade knife, police said.
