Authorities have identified the Patterson man killed over the weekend in what they’re terming a gang-related homicide.
Moises Martinez, 22, died after opening fire during a quinceañera celebration on Briggs Avenue, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Sgt. Anthony Bejaran said.
Martinez had driven to the area with two other people when they encountered the party and started yelling out derogatory terms for Norteño gang members.
Martinez was believed to be a member of the rival Sureño gang. Someone at the party returned fire, killing Martinez.
He was one of two gang members killed in violent incidents over the weekend; authorities have not yet released the name of the man killed Friday night at Dallas Avenue and Lassen Street.
