Officers arrested a 24-year-old Turlock man after, police say, he attempted double-dip shoplifting.

According to Turlock police reports, Demetrious Montoya stole merchandise from Target on Countryside Drive on Wednesday. He left the store, then returned later to take more items, authorities said.

Police officers confronted Montoya, who ran. Investigators later found him at his home.

Because Montoya was on parole, police could search his residence. Officers found the stolen merchandise and arrested Montoya on charges of commercial burglary and resisting arrest, and on a parole hold, authorities said.
