Merced County Sheriff's detectives are investigating a home invasion robbery near Merced this morning. Nobody was injured, but the suspects took off with marijuana and jewelry.

According to authorities, just after 7 a.m., two suspects drove up to a home in the 2800 block of South Highway 99 in a green 1990s Toyota Celica.

They asked a woman standing outside whether anyone else was home. When she said no, they pulled a handgun on her.

The 36-year-old woman ran into the house; the suspects followed and ordered her to the ground.

They proceeded to ransacked the home, asking where the marijuana was. She told them it was out back and they told her not to get up and went outside and found the processed marijuana from a couple of dozen plants. The suspects took off with the marijuana and some jewelry from the house. They are described as Hispanic males, who appeared to be in their early 20s driving a green Toyota Celica.

The victim waited roughly 45 minutes before calling for help.

Investigators ask anyone with information about this case to contact the Merced County Sheriff’s Office at (209) 385-7472.
