The Alameda County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday announced the arrest of two Modesto residents in the murder of a Tracy woman found in a remote area of Alameda County.
Daniel Gross, 19, and Melissa Leonardo, 25, have been arrested on suspicion of murder in the death Lizette Cuesta.
Gross and Leonard are in custody at Santa Rita Jail, the Sheriff's Office announced on Twitter.
The three were friends, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.
The suspects were at a residence in the 1000 block of Nadine Avenue when they were taken into custody, according to Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. Anthony Bejaran.
The victim, 19, was found bleeding from multiple stab wounds near Tesla Road east of Livermore early Monday morning, Alameda County sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Ray Kelly told reporters.
She was airlifted to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, where she pronounced dead at about 4:30 a.m.
