The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the apprehension of an escaped prison inmate who is believed to be in Tuolumne County.
Daniel Lucas Salazar, 30, escaped from a fire house at the North Kern State Prison in Delano last week. He stole a prison pickup, which was found unoccupied a day later on Jamestown Road between Jamestown and Columbia.
Deputies searched the area for Salazar but he was not located and a week later remains at large.
Salazar was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison for second-degree robbery and using another person's ID. He entered North Kern State Prison in August 2016 and was scheduled to be released in March.

Authorities believe Salazar is still in the Tuolumne County area.
Salazar is described as Latino, with short black hair, hazel eyes, 6 feet, 1 inches tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds.
If you see Salazar or have information about his whereabouts call 911, local law enforcement or CDCR’s Special Agent Eric Lauren (559) 351-3979 or Special Agent Arnold Cruz (559) 994-2861 immediately. Do not approach Salazar.
