A Modesto man was sentenced to five years in prison this week after pleading no contest to his third felony DUI, according to the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office.
In December, 46-year-old David Tamez Leza was stopped by Modesto Police for making an illegal U-turn on a freeway onramp. Leza smelled of alcohol and admitted he had been drinking. A chemical test showed his blood-alcohol level to be 0.13 percent.
On May 15, Leza pleaded no contest to felony driving with a blood alcohol level above .08 percent. He also admitted having been previously convicted in January 2013 of felony driving under the influence and that he had previously served two separate terms in state prison stemming from his 2013 and 2007 driving under the influence convictions.
