A Ceres man was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of stabbing his estranged wife’s boyfriend outside a south Modesto bar.
The 24-year-old victim was with his girlfriend in the parking lot outside La Huacana bar off Crows Landing Road at about 2 a.m. when they were approached by her husband, from whom she’s been separated for a year, according to Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Heather Graves.
The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times in the torso and neck, she said. The victim underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
Security guards detained the suspect until police arrived. Raul Parra, 41, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a dirk or dagger.
