A man was shot in the leg Wednesday afternoon after he was involved in an altercation over his apparent relationship with the suspect’s ex-girlfriend.
The shooting occurred around 12:15 p.m. near Kerr Avenue and Oregon Drive.
Heather Graves, spokeswoman for the Modesto Police Department, said a man was driving with his girlfriend when his vehicle was rammed by the girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend.
The two men got out of the vehicle and the ex-boyfriend allegedly drew a gun and shot the other man in the leg before fleeing the scene, Graves said.
The girlfriend called police, saying her boyfriend had been shot.
When officers arrived, they found the victim, who was taken to a nearby hospital. He was treated for wounds not considered to be life-threatening.
The suspect was not captured.
The names of the victim and suspect were not immediately available.
