Tuolumne County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 35-year-old Oakdale man on numerous charges after an investigation into an alleged relationship with an underage girl.
Daniel Leon Clifton was arrested Feb. 2 at his Oakdale home. The Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest Sunday.
According to authorities, the girl came to the sheriff’s office late last year with evidence of the relationship, which dated back to 2012. “Since then, detectives have gone through many items of evidence and have significant concerns that additional underage victims exist,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Clifton faces charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, oral copulation and human trafficking, as well as charges related to the manufacture and exchange of obscene images and videos, authorities said.
Investigators ask anyone with information to contact Detective Brandon Lowry at (209) 694-2955.
