A Ceres truck driver died early Saturday in an accident on Highway 99 south of Kingsburg in Fresno County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The identity of the driver, 37, was not released pending notification of family. The man was driving a big-rig southbound on Highway 99 south of Road 12.
Just after midnight, the truck drifted into the center divide and struck a parked water truck, pushing it into a dump truck parked nearby, the CHP said. Both parked vehicles were unoccupied.
The driver died from his injuries. The truck’s left-side fuel tank ruptured, spilling oil onto a northbound lane and closing it temporarily for cleanup. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor, the CHP report says.
