40 YEARS AGO: The Ceres City Council tentatively set the 1974-75 budget at $1,948,778. This was a revised budget after the council cut $37,000 from an earlier budget to increase the undistributed reserves to $194,000. The council was expected to approve the budget at its next meeting.
