It will get hotter in the Northern San Joaquin Valley, but the National Weather Service expects us to fall just shy of triple digits.
The increase follows a few days of below-normal temperatures; Wednesday’s high in Modesto was 85 degrees, according to the Modesto Irrigation District.
Thursday’s high is expected to reach 95 degrees, followed by increases of a couple of degrees over the next couple of days. Normal for this time of year is 94 degrees, according to the MID. The record high for July 24 was 111 degrees, recorded in 2006.
Lows are expected to drop into the high 60s, with a few light breezes.
