Police arrested a 25-year-old Oakdale man after reportedly finding a variety of drugs in his possession, along with a gun and cash.

According to a news release, authorities with Oakdale police and the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s and Probation departments conducted a probation search at a home in the 1100 block of West G Street on Friday afternoon.

As officers arrived, they saw Ernie Hernandez walking away from a car parked in the parking area of the duplex. Officers saw a plastic bag of what looked like heroin on the front seat.

Hernandez denied owning the car, which authorities said was registered to him and his 19-year-old girlfriend.

The girlfriend allowed officers to search the vehicle. Inside, police said, they found 41.7 grams of heroin, 24.7 grams of cocaine, 24 Oxycodone pills and 65 Hydrocodone pills. They also found a short-barreled shotgun in the car, and $4,000 on Hernandez.

Hernandez was arrested and booked into Stanislaus County Jail on charges of possession of narcotics for sale and possession of a short-barreled shotgun.

Authorities ask anyone with information on the case to contact Sgt. Joe Carillo at (209) 847-2231.
