Motorcyclist killed, pedestrian hurt

A crash in Oakdale of a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle left the motorcyclist dead and a pedestrian injured by flying debris, police said. The crash was reported at 4:53 p.m. Saturday at Highway 108 and Reed Road. According to police, Randall Keith Alford, 53, of Oakdale was traveling at an unsafe speed when the motorcycle collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by David Bradley, 38, of Oakdale. The preliminary investigation indicated Bradley failed to yield the right of way to Alford, police said. Alford was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, where he died from his injuries. A pedestrian in the area, David Wilford Chrowl, also from Oakdale, was injured when flying debris hit him, police said. He was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment.
