A traffic stop for expired registration Tuesday night led to the discovery of stolen items ranging from handguns to personal identification.
Ripon Police Officer Kenny Steele stopped the car at Brady Lane and W. Colony Road for equipment and registration violations.
He searched the car and found methamphetamine, as well as stolen items including a gun and a computer and the personal identification of victims from throughout the Central Valley and Motherlode communities.
The suspects were identified as Shawn Willard, a transient from the Stockton area, and Kristy Kaelber, of Spokane, Wash.
The investigation is continuing as more evidence is being reviewed and potential victims are contacted.
