With talks ongoing, labor unions will be the subject of a 5 p.m. closed session before the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors’ meeting Tuesday.
Supervisors will meet with the county’s negotiating team to discuss any progress in the talks with several unions. The contracts with the 12 unions representing county employees are set to expire June 30.
The agenda also lists a conference with the county’s real property negotiator on the sale of the Medical Arts Building, a former health clinic at 17th and G streets in downtown Modesto.
According to the agenda, price and terms of payment will be discussed with Dr. Gurpreet Singh and other interested parties. Singh was the driving force behind Central Valley Specialty Hospital, in the former Modesto City Hospital next to the county-owned building on 17th Street. Central Valley started admitting patients needing rehabilitative care in July.
Supervisors gave approval last month to sell the two-story Medical Arts Building. Bidders were supposed to deliver sealed purchase offers to the county Wednesday.
