Info: The Commemorative Air Force Central California Valley Squadron second annual Hoppin’ at the Hangar. Dance to 1950s and ’60s rock ’n’ roll music. There will be a catered dinner and old-fashioned soda fountain treats, and classic airplanes and cars. $25 per person. Advance purchase is required; tickets are not sold at door. What: GARDEN CLUB SALAD LUNCH

Info: Oakdale Garden Club is having a salad bar luncheon to fund scholarships for Oakdale High School graduates. Cost is $8 per ticket, or a table of eight reserved in advance for $80. Info: The Central Sierra Audubon Society will hold its annual potluck, which will feature the 2014 scholarship winners and the election of new officers for the 2014-15 year. YESTERYEARS

100 YEARS AGO: The Modesto Reds opened their season at home, playing host to San Leandro. The Professor Jones Boys Band was to play at the game and lead a procession at 2 p.m. from Lesher’s corner to the ball park.
