Free career training as an administrative assistant, medical clerk or accounting clerk is available for young adults who qualify. Stanislaus County residents 17 to 21 years old may start classes in July. There are 60 openings in the taxpayer-funded program. The training is offered at the Computer Tutor Business & Technical Institute from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays for 10, 12, 18 or 36 weeks, depending on the position. California State University, Stanislaus, has created an annual fundraising campaign called One Purpose, to provide scholarships to students who demonstrate academic excellence. The scholarships will aim to recognize bright and talented students, support their academic progress and connect them with a community of supporters, the university said in a statement.
