Where: Graceada Park, 401 Needham St.

Info: The Modesto Police Department’s free, family event will feature a child bicycle obstacle course, motorcycle demonstrations, fingerprinting, K-9 demonstrations, a hot dog lunch and more. For more information, call (209) 342-6107.

Where: 801 Signature Court

What: DEMOCRACTIC CLUB MONTHLY MEETING

YESTERYEARS

25 YEARS AGO: Ruth Sesser, founding member of Inter-Faith Ministries of Modesto, received honorable mention in a national recognition program for anti-hunger activism. She was among 300 nominees for the Pillsbury “Best Against Hunger” Award, which is co-sponsored by the National Conference of Mayors. Mayor Carol Whiteside presented the award to Sesser.
