At least seven people were injured, two critically, in an accident Saturday on Yosemite Boulevard at Santa Fe Avenue in Empire. The 2:13 p.m. wreck occurred a “stone’s throw away” from the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District’s Empire station, said Battalion Chief Eric DeHart. The three-vehicle wreck closed the intersection for about an hour. The two most gravely injured victims, one a juvenile, had to be extracted from their car, DeHart said. A pickup and a minivan were also involved in the accident, but those drivers and passengers had less serious injuries, he said. No other details were available Saturday evening.
