The format will be question-and-answer, with candidates making brief statements first. Members of the audience will need to submit their questions to the moderator, and forms will be provided. Info: The Tuolumne County Garden Club is holding its annual plant, rummage and bake sale. It includes veggies, flowering plants, small household items, furniture, books and an accessories boutique. 40 YEARS AGO: Baseball player Bob Starling of Atwater was named the “Outstanding Athlete of the Year” at California State College, Stanislaus. Starling was the leading hitter on the Cal State Warrior club, which finished its first winning season at 24-22, including victories over UC Berkeley, the University of Oregon and Fresno State.
