Stanislaus County supervisors OK health services contracts

Stanislaus County supervisors approve service contractors, guidelines for murals.

The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors took the following actions Tuesday:

• Approved agreements with service providers for county Behavioral Health and Recovery Services and the Health Services Agency. In the budget year starting July 1, the county expects to spend $32.9 million on service contracts for mental health and recovery programs and about $12.8 million on contracts for health services.
• Created guidelines for evaluating applications for murals in county parks. The policy was developed after an individual asked the county Parks and Recreation Commission in April 2012 about a possible mural for Parklawn Park in south Modesto. The county will consider applications from artists for murals with nature, landscape or agricultural themes.
• Approved spending $185,444 in public facility fees for park equipment and improvements at Modesto Reservoir, Woodward Reservoir and Laird Park. The items include $72,000 for fencing at Laird Park near Grayson; $58,943 for restrooms at Modesto and Woodward reservoirs; and $54,501 for hot coal receptacles, a fuel pump and bins at Modesto Reservoir.
