What: GARDEN CLUB MONTHLY MEETINGS
When: Tuesday, 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Where: 6 p.m. meeting is at City Annex, 250 E. E St.; 11 a.m. meeting is at 12875 Cometa Road, Valley Home
Info: In response to gardeners who are not available for midday meetings, the Oakdale Garden Club has added an evening meeting the third Tuesday of each month. The morning meeting will be at the home of Bambi Porter, who will conduct a workshop on making cheese at home. Bambi, the Gypsy Cowgirl, is well-known for her food preservation workshops conducted throughout the area. The evening meeting will feature Terry Harper and Heidi Aufdermaur from the Riverbank Heirloom Club. They will demonstrate heirloom gardening techniques, including the benefits of obtaining and saving seeds, as well as water-wise propagation. They also will offer information on genetically modified organisms. Oakdale Garden Club meetings are open to the public. For more information, call Marilyn at (209) 848-8746.
