There’s no other way to say it - it’s going to be hot today. But if we can make it through the next 24 hours, a beautiful weekend lies ahead.
National Weather Service forecasters predict highs near the triple digits in the Northern San Joaquin Valley today. The record high for today, set in 2008, was 98 degrees, according to the Modesto Irrigation District. We might break that today.
But things start to cool down tomorrow, with Friday’s high predicted at 93, followed by 86 on Saturday and a downright mild 79 on Sunday.
Early next week looks much more typical for this time of year, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.
Never miss a local story.
So we just need to get through today.
