Air Force One lands today at Castle Airport in Atwater.
The former United States presidential passenger jet, a Douglas VC-9C, will be met with a formal reception when it lands. The plane will join Castle Air Museum’s collection of more than 60 aircraft, spanning more than 75 years of aviation history.
The aircraft is being flown from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport to the museum with the support of UVAIR/EPIC Corp., TBM Aviation, Allegiant Airlines, and individuals donating time and expertise, in addition to monetary gifts, according to Castle Air Museum officials.
