Mother Nature issues reminder it's still summer

Officially, there’s still more than a month left of summer. Mother Nature, apparently, doesn't want us to forget it, bringing temperatures that could close in on triple digits this week.
Forecasters predict the high in Modesto today to reach 96, the National Weather Service says. There won’t be much in the way of a breeze, with winds only 5 to 8 mph.
Tonight it should drop to about 64 degrees before ramping up again — though not quite so much — Friday. The winds are expected to pick up Friday night, with gusts of up to 20 mph.
Through the weekend, forecasters call for highs in the low 90s. It looks like more of the same into early next week, with mostly sunny conditions: highs in the low 90s and lows in the low 60s.
