A Castro Valley man suffered major injuries in a motorcycle accident north of Valley Springs.
According to the California Highway Patrol, David Fletcher, 37, was riding a 2008 Harley Davidson west on Camanche Parkway South near Pattison Road when the accident occurred about 2:40 p.m. Sunday. Fletcher missed a turn in the road and the motorcycle went into an embankment, ejecting him.
Fletcher was taken by ambulance to a landing zone, where a helicopter picked him up and took him to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Authorities said investigators determined that Fletcher had been drinking prior to the accident, but that was not a factor, so he was not arrested.
