Memorial Day weekend is shaping up to be picture perfect, if not the best conditions for taking a dip. In the Modesto area, the National Weather Service is predicting sunny conditions with highs around 80 and lows in the 50s through Monday.
The weekend, the traditional kickoff to summer, is generally marked by full campgrounds and boats on the water at area reservoirs. That likely will be the case this year, though campers might bring along an extra sweater or blanket.
It’s expected to be breezy, but nothing like the strong winds the area experienced Wednesday. Winds should be mild, ranging from 5 to 11 mph, forecasters say.
The system that is keeping temperatures low could bring some rain to the higher elevations. And come next week, a bit of that rainfall could come our way. The National Weather Service is predicting a chance of showers around Modesto Monday night and into Tuesday.
