A backpack left in a restroom at Kaiser Modesto Medical Center resulted in a call to the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department bomb squad.
Someone found the backpack in a restroom Tuesday morning, Modesto police Sgt. Rick Applegate said.
Authorities called the bomb squad and closed off the third floor of the hospital as a precautionary measure.
The backpack was found to have clothes in it, Applegate said. The scene was cleared by noon.
