The Modesto Police Department crime prevention unit is resurrecting Neighborhood Watch groups citywide.

Community service officers Heather Graves and Christy Beffa are getting calls from residents who want to form groups, get new signs to replace the old, rusting ones put up 30 or so years ago, and reinvigorate the sense of feeling connected and safe by knowing their neighbors.

There are many benefits to having a Neighborhood Watch group registered with the crime prevention unit, police say.

To form a group or register an existing one, contact Graves at (209) 572-9636 or gravesh@modestopd.com or Beffa at (209) 572-9639 or beffac@modestopd.com.
