Charles Albert Risley Jr., 54, entered his plea in federal court in Fresno on Monday.

The case against Risley came out of investigation by Ceres police and the FBI, according to a news release.

A Ceres detective determined that Risley was making files of child porn available to users of a file-sharing network in July and August.

Risley has been in federal custody since Oct. 12. He was convicted in Merced County in 1993 of committing lewd acts with a child younger than 14 and received a six-year prison term for that conviction. In 2004, he was convicted in Stanislaus County of possession of child pornography.

Risley admitted in court Monday that from July 20 to Sept. 1, he used the Internet to receive more than 600 images of child pornography. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 10.
