More than 100 relatives and friends of homicide victim Marty Kent gathered Saturday on North McHenry Avenue to ask residents and victims of violent crime to ‘take a stand with us against violence and unite our community.’
Participants gathered donations and handed out information to drivers.
The donations will be used to help raise awareness about violent crimes.
Marty, 17, was shot and killed outside his house in the 900 block of Leon Avenue in west Modesto on Jan. 2. Authorities have arrested two men suspected in the homicide.
