If you're driving south today, be sure to check road conditions.
The California Highway Patrol said this morning that authorities have closed Interstate 5 over the Grapevine in Southern California due to falling snow.
Earlier today, CHP officers were pacing traffic, but conditions deteroriated since, leading to the closure, the CHP says. No estimated time of reopening is available, the CHP says that will happen when conditions improve.
Southern California, like Northern California, is in the midst of a cold snap due to a front moving in from Canada.
