The workweek is off to a fuzzy start this morning, with areas of dense fog reported throughout the Northern San Joaquin Valley.
Foggy conditions may have contributed to a fatal accident on Highway 16 near Jackson.
National Weather Service forecasters have issued a dense fog advisory through 10 a.m., with visibility less than 200 feet. Officials remind drivers to use their headlights even after the sun comes up and leave plenty of distance between cars.
Forecasters predict more patchy fog tonight and Tuesday morning, followed by a chance of showers Wednesday and into Thursday before sunshine returns on Friday. Highs will be in the 50s with lows in the 30s and — later in the week — high 20s.
