Firefighters respond to two-alarm blaze at Turlock four-plex

Firefighters in Turlock responded to a two-alarm blaze in a four-plex near Cal State University, Stanislaus on Wednesday morning. An elderly woman was at home, but escaped the residence in time to avoid injury, officials said.

Firefighters in Turlock responded to a two-alarm blaze in a four-plex near Cal State University, Stanislaus on Wednesday morning. No one was hurt.

All four units from Turlock Fire Department responded to the blaze, which started around 9 a.m. on Tampa St., and crews from Ceres and Keys also responded.

Turlock Rural Fire Department took emergency calls while Turlock's four units responded.

The four-plex is located near Orchard Supply Hardware and Brenda Athletic Club in Turlock. Tampa St. was closed at Geer Rd.

There is no known cause, but the blaze is under investigation.

The fire was confined to one upstairs unit, but one or possibly two other units of the four-plex suffered water damage, according to Turlock Fire Department division chief Mark Gomez.
