A man in an electric wheelchair was hurt Monday afternoon when a car hit him as he crossed a Turlock street.
According to Turlock police, the 72-year-old man was crossing Fulkerth Road near Geer when a car struck him at 5:37 p.m.
A preliminary report did not list the man's name. It's not clear whether the man was in a crosswalk. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Tuesday, according to Sgt. Steve Webb.
The investigation is ongoing, and it's not clear whether anyone will be cited, Webb said. The driver involved in the accident stayed at the scene and called police, he said.
