Police arrested a Turlock man Tuesday morning on a charge of hit-and-run after an accident left a motorcyclist with a broken leg and other injuries. According to Turlock police Sgt. Stephen Webb, the accident occurred at West Main Street and North Tully Road just before 7 a.m.
The motorcyclist was heading east on Main, getting ready to turn north onto Tully, when a man in a pickup pulled out of a Circle K parking lot and prepared to enter the turn lane, clipping the bike.
The driver fled the scene; witnesses called in a description of the truck. Officers found it on Pioneer Avenue, a couple of miles away.
"It had fresh damage consistent with the collision," Webb said. Officers conducted a lineup with the witness, who identified the suspect as the driver.
Police arrested Rodrigo Gonzalez Gutierrez, 35, on a felony charge.
