The California Highway Patrol reported Sunday that two men have died as the result of Merced County automobile accidents.

The CHP said David Guest, 57, died Saturday from injuries he sustained in a July 22 five-vehicle crash on Highway 152 near Los Banos. The accident remains under investigation.

The CHP also reported that a 40-year-old man riding a bicycle in the center median Friday night died after being struck by a Chevrolet Suburban traveling south on Golden State Boulevard, near Stanislaus County. The bicyclist apparently was looking for cans and bottles to recycle when he was struck. His name was not released.
